What moves the price

  • Length. A twenty-minute set and a whole evening are different jobs, so say from when to when.
  • Date. A Saturday in December is in more demand than a Tuesday in January.
  • Guests and venue. A bigger room often needs a bigger sound system. Ask whether it is included.
  • Travel. Outside the Reykjavík capital area, travel and sometimes accommodation are added.

How the numbers are worked out

Each figure is a starting price the artist chose to publish on their profile. Artists who publish no price are left out, and a category gets no range until at least ten of its artists publish one.

The median is the middle price: half publish less and half publish more. The range covers the middle half, leaving out the cheapest and the most expensive quarter. An artist listed in two categories counts in both.

Prices are in Icelandic krónur, written the Icelandic way, so 50.000 ISK is fifty thousand krónur. A starting price is not a quote: the quote you receive is priced for your event.
